In December of 1989 the PHSF was established with
the goal of making
and undergraduate education possible for a greater number of
Portuguese-
American students. For the past sixteen years the PHSF has become a
viable
organization under the leadership of eight Officers and a Board of
Directors.
The Board of Directors is composed of forty-three highly respected,
Portuguese-Americans with academic, professional, and business
backgrounds.
The PHSF also includes the Academic Selection Committee which is
responsible
for the review and selection of scholarship recipients. The PHSF has
met
considerable success in its efforts to provide academic assistance.
Fundraising
efforts have totaled over $555,000 with over $548,000 awarded to 96
students through 2005. |
